I thought I would come and introduce myself and.... ooh I like the smily of the day =) :nude: (Sorry I have what I refer to as the "ooh, shiny disorder"). Well, my name is David, and I came to this site attempting to find a way to fix my issues with sc. It's been a while since I've really been into the original sc, but back in high school I spent a lot of time playing around with it and basic modding primarily using memgraft and arsenal 3 in conjunction with several other utilities. I now spend my free time when I am not doing my wedding plans playing diablo 2 or sc2. I am currently on a pos pentium 2 computer running windows 2000, so I was trying to play around with the original sc again and I ran across this site. Anyways, yeah that's me. I guess.

Ahh! You stay away from my unborn children! I'm watching you... And well stay away from my future wife for that matter :bleh: Thanks for the welcoming, guys. And if there's anything I can use my knowledge or skills to help out with, I'd be glad to do so =)

You can check out the technology forum for a bunch of builds for people getting PCs that can run SCII. If you're able to spend about 600-700 on a desktop, we can help you pick the parts, and you can put together a machine that will run SCII fabulously.

Ok sweet I will check that out and see what is needed =). And thanks I'll take a look at that. I'm actually a computer science major and have quite a bit of experience with computers and have built them before. I might need help finding a good video card and sound card for not too much money, as I don't know much about those 2 specific parts of the computer. I don't really do much with media and things and I've just kinda guessed in the past, which at times has led me to not so good ends to my means. Of course, I'll need to have a bit more money before I can do that. I just got married, so as you could probably guess, I have some more important financial obligations to take care of first.... lol

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
