With Patch 1.1.0 out, I decided to host a Map Night. :)
The official thread is here. If you want to discuss about the maps we'll play or give feedbacks once the Map Night has ended, please post there.
Here are the important informations you need to know about the Issue #2:

Date: September 25th
Hour: 22h*
Channel: http://www.staredit.net/sc2mapnight/

Server: NA (US)

* Based on SEN's Server time
(This means that for a GMT -4 user-time, the Map Night will start around 18h)

Here's a list of Custom maps I intend to play with people (we might do some Melee too!):

-> Hex'd
-> Lightcycle
-> NOTD
-> Runling Run
-> Random Micro Arena
-> Desert Strike
-> Income Wars
-> Resident Evil: Outbreak
-> WGX Nagrand
-> Debates
-> Partycraft
-> Sentry Scramble
-> Shape War
-> Phantom Mode
-> SCV Soccer
-> SCCAP - Infernal
-> Uberena
-> Rocket Arena
-> Zergling Blood
-> Observer Dodge Final
-> Infested Arena
-> Modern Cop: M.S.P.D.
-> Minion Arena

If you have any recommendations, please post them and I'll try them out to ensure they are of a minimal quality and are multiplayer.
Also, I strongly suggest you to try to get a playable version of your in-production maps by this night so you are able to call a collective test. Nothing better than a group of people from an elitist community to get positive criticizes about your map! ;)

P.S. For those of you that wonder when the Issue #1 occurred: it was during the Beta, and it failed epically because Blizzard decided to shut down the servers for maintenance. :lol:

Where's mine? :hurr:

I should be getting a new internet tomorrow, so I can get some REAL testing in. With me being able to play my own map, finally! :awesome:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
[2026-6-20. : 3:43 pm]
NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new :lol:

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
