Yeah, they've been talking about their "new game" for a while now. Finally something to show for it.

Also, would love to see some of those models in HON, like that fire-ey guy with the mace.

No, I think it's a FPS Dota (see the "heroes" part of it?) as a savage 1 mod. This is also very old news. I'm not in the HoN biz anymore, but if s2 is talking about a new game, this isn't it. This is just a newerth.com mod.

For those who don't know about Savage, it's quite possibly the best RTSS ever. Savage 2 came out and added some new bullshit, but nothing compares to the skill and awe of the original. Once s2 released it for freeware, Uttar and a few other guys rounded up a bunch of bugfixes and called it the Savage Enhancement Project. It's final version was the Savage Full Enhancement. Then newerth.com got their butts together and made Savage XR, which looks pretty good actually, but it came out a few years ago.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
