Can't log-in

I can not log-in through my computer, or my girlfriend's computer (on a completely different network). I can, however, log-in though a free online proxy. I'm calling conspiracy. Seriously though-- what's going on?

Woah

People have been getting the mySQL errors for a couple days now. Not sure how or why. I don't think Devourer has said anything about it.

HAHA I KNOW LEEROY'S IP ADDRESS NOW!

Maybe the server needs a new MySQL engine? 2006 is kinda dated...

I thought the whole reason that logins are slow is the set of proxy tools that IP installed...

Shows how effective they are :awesome:

I think there is something wrong with the [img] bbcode. I cant preview nor post a thread I wish to make without getting this error, unless i remove all the img tags.

This definitely needs to be fixed. Need to thank Leeroy_Jenkins though for recommending a free online proxy or I wouldn't be posting this :P. Not only that but this made me miss my first turn on TKG lol

I thought I got banned or something and got a little worried but I'm glad it's just this. Also I just found out that if someone is unable to log into their account and wants to ask an admin a question to possibly fix it, how are they supposed to? Guests are unable to PM or anything so how do we get a hold of either emailing the site or an admin? I didn't see anything clearly to me to ask for help. I guess I'll just hold on to a few admin's emails just incase :P

hope this gets fixed :)

Woah

I think it displays our emails in our profiles or something. For stuff like this, though, Devourer and IP would be more resourceful than me.

People not being able to log-in at all is totally not a big deal, let's continue not worrying about it.

Ok so I got more info on this. I can't preview or post a thread or post with any img tags in it. If I try, it loads for probably 2 minutes then gives me this error:
A Staredit Network error has occured:
Query failed : SELECT * FROM attachments WHERE att_mid=852 AND ((att_status=0 AND att_posts=0))
2006
MySQL server has gone away

Please contact administration with all the details.

Then the next time I try to go somewhere on the site, usually the forum index, it once again takes 2 minutes to load, and results in this error:
A Staredit Network error has occured:
Query failed : SELECT * FROM sessions WHERE ip='blah.blah.blah.blah' AND id='730b1443afa79b7d9b5030c401270277' LIMIT 1
2006
MySQL server has gone away

Please contact administration with all the details.

After that I can use the site like normal. This is pretty retarded, I would like to create my thread :(

Woah

I just posted with an image tag, so I'm not sure that's specifically it. I asked Devourer about it but I'm not exactly sure he'll be doing any more coding work for the site due to IRL conflicts.

Someone try posting the img tag I posted above to see if its image or user dependant?

Edit: i can preview the img that MadZombie posted ( [IMG]http://i51.tinypic.com/xpo9c7.gif[/IMG] ), so its seems to depend on the image

Sep 5 2010, 7:35 pm DT_Battlekruser Post #15

Could it be dependent on traffic volume? The error given indicates a timeout in the response.

Woah

I just tried and it gave me an error. Hopefully IP randomly checks SEN soon and figures out a solution.

So far I cannot login without using a proxy. To make it worst sometimes when I use a proxy it says "proxy ID denied"

Also when logged in with the proxy I cannot fast reply or select threads from the main forum (i have to go from main forum, to topics, to thread) I also cannot shout

but yeah this is a serious issue

So the game plan is to wait to see if IP randomly stops by? Admins don't e-mail each other when the site is fucked up as hell? Interesting.

Haha. This.

I think that the following needs to occur:

People need to step back and realize that this is a BIG problem. What looks worse on a website: Tiny community or Broken shit everywhere. Everything should be dropped until this is fixed. SEN needs to find a competent and active coder who can fix this, if not, we just need SOMEONE who can fix it. SEN needs to get fixed, or else it's just gonna become another waste-bin of the web.

GGSEN :dev:

Edit: Also, you cannot see contact information unless you are logged on, IIRC. I'm also not going to log off to test this. Why? Oh. Because I might not be able to fucking log back on. I'm staying "remember me"'d forever.

IP has been visiting SEN, but apparently does not have time to help out. If TZ is a competent PHP coder and is willing to dedicate his free time to this, I do not see why he should not be allowed to code.

Since Devourer is leaving and IP is unable to fix SEN, it may be a good idea to give DavidJCobb elevated access.

Zoan -- of course it isn't full understanding. You could ask "is the mechanism by which this counterexample blows up the ONLY mechanism possible for an initial configuration to blow up?"
[05:48 pm]
Zoan -- ppl do it all the time in PDEs
[05:47 pm]
Zoan -- Heinermann
Heinermann shouted: it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased
Constructing a counterexample is answering the question: "Is Navier Stokes well posed?" in the negative
[05:44 pm]
NudeRaider -- I only heard about it, didn't any news article, so what did it do then?

Heinermann -- it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased

NudeRaider -- I have no idea tbh. All I know no human was ever able to solve it, but there's at least a few that beat portal ;)
[05:32 pm]
Zoan -- Navier Stokes is not that esoteric I thought
[04:32 pm]
NudeRaider -- Zoan
Zoan shouted: I find it kind of sad that on the same day it was announced AI solved Navier Stokes, it was also announced AI beat Portal, and there's a good deal of people who don't know which is more impressive
you find it sad not everyone is a math nerd?
