Well I been saving my maps in my old Sc2 beta folder, but I just can't find the normal Sc2 folder... Anyone know? So I know where to save to?

None.

Woah

Since the maps you download from Battle.net 2.0 save as cached files, I don't think there is a map folder anymore. I may not be getting what you're asking, though.

Hello

You can download maps via the editor, so you can edit it (for the case it is not locked)

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

Woah

And as for saving them, I believe you can save them anywhere since that had no effect on your SC2.

When you open a map in Starcraft 2 Editor, you can save it anywher eyou want. There is a standard folder that it selects, as already stated it's in your documents folder -> StarCraft II -> Maps. BUT! You can save a map to anywhere you want, and either right click to open it in galaxy editor, or browse to open through the Galaxy Editor. Either way, you can not download a map and rehost it on b.net out of the blue, since the maps are catched, that means they are only temporarly on your computer while you play. I do belive, that if you look in your recently played, or favorites when hosting, you can find some of the maps that have been published to b.net and are not set as private, then host them through that, obviously - else no one would ever be able to start a game - but keep in mind, hosting a map in Starcraft II is not about hosting, it's about joining, you join the game you want to play, if no previous game exist, you will automaticly create a new lobby, and become the first member in the game.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
