Relatively ancient and inactive

Thinking of jumping on the bandwagon and getting an eReader. Currently favoring wi-fi Nook for $140. I don't have an iPad. Anyone have a reason why I should/shouldn't get Nook/something else?

WiFi Nook seems like a pretty good piece of hardware, as long as it has the durability to back up its features, I'd say you've probably got a fairly nice deal, only thing a Kindle really has over it is text-to-speech, and as long as you're just using it as an eReader and not trying to edit .Docs or anything like that, it's probably your best bet.
