I really didn't want to do this, because no one here has ever led me to believe they're interested in cars. Simply put, my car is idling rough and hesitating when I come to a full stop (at a stop light) and taking off again. (EDIT: I'll get there fine, light will change to green, and at this point when I reapply pressure the car hesitates) This happens intermittently, so it isn't every time I get to an intersection this problem manifests itself. Sometimes I'll start it up, and it'll stall if I don't pump the gas a little right away. When it first starts, my car idles at about 500RPMS. Lately I've noticed that if I drive someplace, go into park (in which case, it idles high at 1100RPMs), then go back into drive, the RPMs plummet and it stalls. No engine lights are on. We've checked the belts, fuel pump, o-ring, air hose were all replaced in the last year. Oil is good for another 1k miles and fuel is less than a week old. Air Filter looks fine. We cleaned out the throttle body, and when I filled up a week ago I put in a can of 44 K. What's really strange is that there are no emergency lights on. But the only thing I can think of is that its a sensor problem. Auto 1994 Camry. Any Ideas?

My car is doing the exact same thing right now, and it has done it a few years back. The problem for me was a coil was starting to go bad.
The solution is to get new spark plugs and maybe other cylinder parts. I have a Suzuki Sidekick that has ignition coils right on top on the spark plugs, so I just replaced the bad coil and put in new spark plugs. Ran great.
In addition to bad gas, bad oil can make your idle rough. Consider an oil change if you haven't had one in a while and you think the oil isn't very good.
You buying?
Also, our next step is to look at the coil. :\ I hope we can replace it ourselves, but we'll have to see where its located.

I just replaced the spark plugs last night, and it went through the city fine this morning. Thought I'd let you know...
That's what we're doing next time my bf and I both have a day off. In other news, the problems I was having is happening less frequently as time goes on, so maybe I really just needed to let the 44K do its thing. I hope that was it. We're also going to reset the ECU...just for good measure. I'd love to get a fluid flush, and I need new front tires. *sigh*
I know a guy who knows a guy who can get you some cheap tires if you happen to be in NJ anytime soon.
I would have recommended depressing the accelerator for 2 seconds before starting the engine, then holding in the clutch while you turn the ignition (to avoid the start and stall).
Then I realised you likely have an automatic gearbox.

I have no idea what could be causing it other than insufficient fuel injection amounts.
None.
