How it works:
  1. Kill the enemy team's Starport to win.
  2. Your team leader (head player on each force) spawns Battlecruisers automatically.
  3. Your teammates each have support units to contribute to the battle.
  4. Recommended game is a full house.

Changelog:
  • v08 (4-1-12 lol)
    - TWEAKED ALL THE THINGS!
  • v04 (7-6-10)
    - Shrank buildable arena at top and bottom.
    - Decreased turret build time.
    - Tweaked spell costs.
  • v03 (7-1-10)
    - Changed Dark Archon to Infested Kerrigan.
    - Made SCV and Ghost high HP, non-invincible (they can't just go where they please anymore).
    - Tweaked various unit and tech stats.
  • v02 (7-1-10)
    - Added new support unit for third player: SCV (builds Turrets, repairs Starport).
    - Consolidated Dark Archon to Science Vessel player.
    - Removed pre-placed edge Turrets.
    - Tweaked some units.

I remember playing a similar map, I think with Rantent and some other people. Everyone had stargates and you'd just build free air units with no build time.

Well, here's a new version: http://sc.nibbits.com/maps/view/133343/pusherz-02

- Added new support unit for third player: SCV (builds Turrets, repairs Starport).
- Consolidated Dark Archon to Science Vessel player.
- Removed pre-placed edge Turrets.
- Tweaked some units.


Funny thing is I kept thinking this map was a clever little idea while I was making it. I found it kinda chaotic and disorganized in-game, though.

Oh well, might as well tweak up to a reasonable 'done' point.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
