...You just realized that?

So what else is there? There's the ridiculous censorship of the map editor, no channels, no lan, no swearing... did i miss anything?

None.

You can turn off the mature language filter if you go into options. :-_-:

Oh, but how exactly is the censorship of the map editor like?

None.

How do you use a tool and be forced to give away the product with no profit? (EULA)

Wait, so my real name is displayed to all people at all times?!? I thought it only showed it to people who I manually put on my "Real ID" friend's list...

None.

I have one hope left: Patches.

How many SC1 patches were there? A billion. Maybe when like, 1/4 the expected number of sales blizz wanted happen, they'll wake up and be like "OH BUT WAIT WERE FIXING IT SORRY, ACTIVISION IS FUCKING OFF AND LETTING US DO OUR JOB"

None.

This won't happen because every World of WhoreCraft player and Blizzard sucker is going to buy it too. Hell, I'm sure the majority of the SC2 players have never even bought SC1, let alone play it.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
