:payne:

poison_us wanted me to do 4x4 jungle trees.
I wasn't quite inspired and I feel lazy today, so here's my crappy submissions ;o
They vary from 2x2 to 3x2 to 3x3, from 1 sprites to 2 to 3.

Btw, the piece of terrain at the top right is simply the hand-made custom base (3x2) I used for the trees.
So yup, they have a fixed walkability! (at least) XD

Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled with them either, so I made my own in like 2 minutes. Crappy, but they get the job done.

Aren't the four on the left just... default trees? ;o

I like the tree on the very top right corner. :bleh:

In fact, I just wanted to make him realize those nearly fitted perfectly his requirements: a tree on jungle terrain >.<

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
