Could I get some help making a custom unit that used the model of the doodad "Tree - Aiur"? The same process for making a custom unit, from another unit, doesn't seem to work.

GOT IT: Ok. Don't duplicate the Aiur - Tree actor (doodad) and attempt to work with it. Just add a new actor, find the 'Model' fields, and put "Aiur Tree" in each one. Then add a new unit and link the actor to your unit.

What do you mean detect it using triggers? Can you explain what why you need to detect it, and why does it need to be a doodad?

It actually does work with duplicating the actor, I think you have to have default and advanced values shown (the model field is greyed out)
