Well, I finally finished building a new computer (the processor finally came), and now it won't load. I plug in everything. I followed all instructions for cable installation. I plug my monitor's DVI cable into my Radeon HD 5770 that is installed on my motherboard, and when I start, there's neither a beep nor any screen, BIOS or otherwise. Halp?

Check to make sure that
* The graphics card is inserted properly, and if it requires an additional power connector, that power is plugged in.
* The RAM is inserted correctly
* The PC speaker (the thing that goes beep) is plugged in to the right spot.

Shouldn't the internal speakers not need any additional setup?

If your motherboard comes with a speaker, it doesn't need to be set up. If it doesn't come wtih a speaker, you have to plug it in. The speaker is usually included in the case. My motherboard has a hex display which tells me what's wrong.

If everything looks right, take it out of the case, and only attach the psu, motherboard, cpu, graphics, monitor, ram. You should be able to get into bios then.

I'm curious as to what was wrong in the first place. On my first build, I forgot about the 8pin CPU connector because it was small and right next to the heatpipe of the northbridge heatsink.

I was unaware you had to plug in a separate 4pin for the processor itself on the mobo.

Ah, yeah, that was added a while back because the processor was taking up so much power it needed its own 12 volt power cord to get enough.
