We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Pool of Radiance 2 is a DnD based computer game playing mainly in Myth Draennor. Maybe you can copy story elements, spells and whatnot from it.

My only advice is: Don't send enemies that are of a higher level than the human players.

Win by luck, lose by skill.

I actually have played DnD up until about a year ago.

A lot of the stuff it tells you in the books, like doing treasure rolls and such.

However, one of the best parts of the campaign we were playing was the items we got that were not in the books at all. The campaign was set around dragons. We had to kill these certain dragons and get rings based on their color. The rings, although not in the books, did a lot of things, such as allowing you to breathe underwater, resist poison, freeze water, and walk on walls. Of course there were limitations (you cant kill 4 water monsters all at once just by freezing the water) but it was one of the best parts of the game.

Another cool thing was that the characters didnt all live. Sometimes the best thing you can do is kill off a players character as the DM. Letting them get to lvl 20 will get boring, even if it is really cool. Our dm actually even made one of our party's characters passed out for about half of one of the dungeons (after which she became super powered and attempted to kill a Great Wyrm Red dragon. She got one shot off and then was vulnerable again :D) But most of all, don't think of the game as a competition. Think of it as just for fun and that should be good enuf.

Also, hanging around in bars is boring. Try and keep as much action in there as possible.

I actualy don't know the difference between 3.5 and 4th addition, so i'm not sure which on i'm using.

in one portion of my campaign there is a dragon that actualy joins up with the party, before that the party is betrayed by an NPC fighter who actually turns into a powerful mage.

Edit. in regards to the part about the bar thing, the particular group i am with is... lets say content, with sitting and talking about there character drinking in a bar, most of my friends are RP freaks, not just rpg like dnd, actual stories where they just talk and talk, but im only gunna have a portion of it (very small portion) be in bars or taverns

NudeRaider -- blessed innocent soul knows nothing of the strife we had before EUDs were discovered :teehee:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
