@DM: I know exactly what you mean, and I saw it on SEN, but I can't recall where. D: I think they'd tested it in the shot using a Marine.

This is great.
I think we could nearly forget the blockiness in-game. O.o

Here is a mini pool ^^

Used 2 sprites. It looks bad without them.

Is that sarcasm? Besides, nothing a sprite or two wont fix :bleh: .

@Cecil
Very nice. Can you post the map for that?

Not sure if it's exactly what you wanted, but it might be cool to add in somewhere to your flooded temple: http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr11/Cecil_Sunkure/CastleIsland.jpg

That looks fake. I don't see a block or dimension issues.

I agree, especially the top right: there is no water-land-tile with no huge cliff and such. It seems to be an edited temple-tile.

Just post up the map, I mean, this looks pretty cool and I'd be interested in seeing the separate tiles.

BTW, that block isn't a block lol. There is a small nub that makes it fine. Also, as I said before, there aren't any dimension issues -the water just looks really high is all.

Alright guys, first off let me congratulate you on being too quick to judge. It's a trait found in so many people lately that it must be awesome.

Secondly, let's take a look-sie.

I see a sprite blocking some blockage. Look hard.

Finally, this is pretty damned possible. It'd be harder to shop the image than it would to actually make it in-editor.

Gratz.

Post the freakin map instead of getting into an argument?

If any of you are wondering why I was avoiding the topic, then read on.

I was spending a few hours thinking what to say, but the only thing I CAN say is the truth. I completely forget how to make the water thing, and I did not save the map. Why did I not say this earlier? Well, obviously, now you are probably thinking "Lol, Ciara, thats just proof you didnt make it, your avoiding posting the map". First off, that's not true. I legitimately forgot how to make it, as the only thing fueling my body at that time of hour was a caffeine pill.
Second, I dont see the big deal. Looking back on that piece of terrain, I see a sprite, a block, and (even though Cecil may disagree) dimension issues. It's terrible, and even though some may say "Wow thats good", it isnt. News flash, good terrain is pieces like this:

http://i41.tinypic.com/2czkn5.jpg
http://i38.tinypic.com/11m99c5.jpg
http://i41.tinypic.com/2qwl8g7.jpg

See the difference? My terrain, very blocky, uses a sprite, dimension issues (Glance@Cecil) and, frankly, it's ugly.

Again, your opinion is probably unchanged, you're still thinking "Ciara - you just dont wanna post the map because its PHOTOSHOPED NUB!!!".
Well, I can't change that. The truth is sometimes unbelievable. Get used to that...
Now, this thread may be locked. Getting back on topic will be nearly impossible. Why the heck didn't I just post "I want water in a hole of ruins" instead of trying to give out an example?
Blah.
My fingers hurt from all that typing :D

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
