 So earlier tonight i found out when you use neural parasite with an infestor on a worker( i was thinking back to mind control in SC) you have 10seconds to build; dunno how it'd work with an SCV but i decided to grab a probe before i completely killed the enemy and fun times proceeded.

Things to note
-Infesting a builder gives you full build control
-When you warp in a building as infested protoss it stays in your control, aka second race if you get a nexus
-Supply count is either shared or not displayed for second race(wasn't paying attention sorry :[ )
-Getting a stolen nexus is abit useful to have for chrono boosting...

Relatively ancient and inactive

Wait, so chrono boost on a hatchery would accelerate build times of all larvae associated to it? Including injected larvae? Did you try it on larvae created AFTER the initial chrono boost?

Both Terran and Protoss should have their own version of controlling other races. Protoss should've kept their mind control and Terran should use neurostim drugs used by medics/medivacs. :awesome:

You share supply, so no 400/600 man armies sorry.

I did this as well, and as soon as the nexus finished my opponent left. :bleh:

No, Chrono Boost will only accelerate the creation of a Queen from the Hatchery. Other than that, it'll increase the rate of upgrades, but that's about it. Doesn't affect larvae.

you sure? i could of sworn it boosted the rate 'spawn larvae' turned from eggs to larva..

edit: and it doesn't seem out of the question to assume it increases larva morph speed to whatever unit youre producing as it increases the speed of all protoss and terran unit production, including warp-gates why not hives?

Because Larva aren't buildings.

Infesting an SCV and starting to build a command center, the scv continues to build the command center but switches control back to the original owner. I was playing against a comp so I'm not sure what control you have over the scv once it's yours again.

NudeRaider -- blessed innocent soul knows nothing of the strife we had before EUDs were discovered :teehee:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
