I know, I know, it's been awhile. I guess I'll start by answering everything you probably want to know. If you have no questions and just want to get on your account, please read this anyways.

Do I get to keep my old username?
No, you'll have to register a new account. Now, this is pretty important: Do not attempt to take over someone else's name. We have the old database and we can do email checks and the like. However, if you make us go through that much effort, I'll make sure to put in some extra effort to make sure you don't come back to this site.

What about the maps and database?
Hopefully we are devising a new system and it really needed to be cleaned out anyways, so everything there is gone too. We might sort through the stuff later and get some old favorites out of there, but until then, find your maps, maybe copy them into a new folder so it'll be all ready once the database is working again :).

What about "x"?
Everything is gone. Yeah, it sucks, I know.

Now currently, there are a few bugs and lots of stuff on SEN has been disabled / hidden or simply not working yet. This includes uploading files, so for right now, you won't be able to update your avatars. Also, any type of mineral gain is disabled. We are, more or less, rushing this more than we should... but we miss SEN just as much as you do. So for right now, don't try to find bugs... as we know they exist.

As far as what's NOT a bug:
Yes, you (and everyone else) starts with -200 minerals :).

Yeah, things are pretty rudimentary. Hopefully coding updates will be made in the months to come :P

But hey, we have a :mudkip: now :D

In terms of other things though...

Previously popular things like member titles, signatures, and custom shoutbox colors (and avatars) are to cost minerals to have. New members will be consigned to blank signatures and '?' avatars for the first ~400 minerals of posts. Mineral gains have yet to be calibrated in the new economy.

What the hell? Did I hit it lucky or what?

I'm just an old mapmaker, during the Emerald Edit times before Starforge. Then, due to RL keep pulling me in and out of the SC scene, I was only able to lurk. No time to map. No time to play. I did create and account but still I did not even have up to 10 posts. Day by day, my visits decreased till I stop(not even monthly). One day, I decided to check due to SC2 hype (I play more than map) and the site was down (when did it happen btw?). I thought it was lost forever. But then today, I just decided to google for Starforge today and saw staredit on the top of the list. So I gave it a try and voila! So, brb, gonna buy lottery...

NudeRaider -- The visuals are good, the animation is terrible: the movement is off, the impacts in battle scenes have zero weight to it, the lip sync is right up uncanny valley. But yeah, considering what it is it's pretty good overall.

Oh_Man -- https://youtu.be/pPZafFJOi48 crazy good

NimoStar -- And Pathfinding in SC1 was not *that* bad, the problem is that it was designed as a flat 2D game like WC1 (and it was in the alpha) and then switched to isometric without changing the base code. So its actually a flat game pretending to be isometric. With the custom competitive maps that use larger ramps and elevation, pathfinding is quite fixed.
[2026-3-07. : 9:47 am]
NimoStar -- The unlocking and map choice was fine, but mostly in WoL - In HoTS the worst of all units are irrelevant because Kerrigan has infinite summon and stuff. And even in WoL the spaceship instakill map powers are better than units. If I could RTS in my RTS that'd be great.

NudeRaider -- Nekron
Nekron shouted: NudeRaider not that the og sc1 campaigns are particularly good mechanically but cmon, SC2 map mechanics are the opposite of fun
There's many parts to it. I think the raw rts gameplay of sc1 is unsurpassed to this day. And I too never liked that sc2 missions always rush you in some way or another, because I like to take my time. However I still have to admit that they way they did it often was always pretty cool. Like lava rising and receding, a huge-ass mothership destroying bases, undead coming at night, just to name a few, those are definitely creative, so I'm sure there's people that liked it. But that's not even what I meant. It's the unlocking of new features and upgrades and choice which map to play next that made it so much more motivating for me.
[2026-3-05. : 6:49 pm]
Nekron -- like the train maps, enemies just kind of come at you (I'm not sure if there is a real enemy base, there might be one just on a technicality - you are to never interact with its production) and then you gotta chase trains for lulz
