MapSketch v1.1
By O)FaRTy1billion

Thanks to Corbo[MM] for some interface ideas.

I. Open Map
Open a map with the Open button or create a new map by specifying a tileset and dimensions.
You can select the dimensions with the dropdown box or type in any value. Valid dimensions cannot be less than 1 and cannot exceed 256 and the width cannot be odd.
Some things to keep in mind:
- If the larger dimension is not valid, it will not work in StarEdit and may be unstable in StarCraft.
- If the larger dimension is 64 or less then the tiles are displayed larger and thusly may give undesired results.
- Changing any setting will unload an opened map.
- You can change the tileset later, even on an opened map.

II. Load Image
Open an image with the Open button.
Use the slider bars for a quick and simple resize & positioning of the image in the minimap area.
Use the text boxes to fine-tune your adjustments.
Preserve Ratio will keep the ratio between the Scale values when editing.
If you want your image to be smaller than the specified area, you can use Set Back Color to choose a background color.

III. Adjustments
Here is where you change your image to look better as a minimap. The left image is the original image as a reference, and the right image is what the minimap will look like.
Color Corrections has Contrast, Brightness, and Colorfulness (Saturation). Tip: If you want a greyscale or low-color image, you can set the Saturation to the far left.

Color Balance changes the color gamma for Red, Green, and Blue. Here you can change the coloration of the image to fit better in the tileset.

The Filters, Etc. tab has some lighting filters which help make the image look a little better.
If you have a dark image (or if you get a good, but dark, setup) you can check Lighten Image to make it look a little better.
You can also change the tileset since certain tilesets may have more appropriate coloring for your image.

Double click the right preview window to open up a zoomed in copy. Double click that to toggle between 2x and 4x.

IV. Finalize
Shown here is what the final minimap will look like in StarCraft. It also lets you set a few options and settings...
Create as Image Map - Sets players as Active and places map revealers for immediate viewing in StarCraft.
Compress Map - Makes the filesize as small as possible. WARNING: This locks the map and makes it unable to be edited in the editor!
Map Name/Map Description: Scenario Properties text. Map Name is visible in the game lobby.
Force Name: Names the player force in the lobby.

Finish will open the Save dialog.

Changes:
1.0.1 (3/17) - Fixed MPQ load function, load tileset palettes realtime instead of loading Pal.dat.
1.0.2 (3/18) - (Hopefully) Fixed tileset loading functions (should no longer give Runtime Error 9)

1.1.0 (3/23) - (New Feature!) Added Preview zoom window.

1.2.0 (6/03) - Again, fixed tileset loading functions.
