Zerg Hatcheries are Zerg resource-gathering buildings in StarCraft. Their ability to process mined minerals makes them highly important; in melee games, Zerg players always start with a Hatchery. Just like any other Zerg building or unit, it can slowly regenerate its hp. The Zerg Hatchery has the ability to upgrade burrow for some Zerg units and upgrade into a Zerg Lair. Zerg Hatcheries are often made in numbers to create mass amount of units. Unlike Terran Command Centers and Protoss Nexuses, Zerg Hatcheries can produce three units simultaneously.
